The Opportunity

As our Quality Officer you will a support function of QA to ensure the manufacture of all products is in strict compliance with Arnott’s food safety and quality system requirements, with the continuous improvement of systems and processes. 

The Accountabilities

• Manage daily quality activities including line walks, finished product hold, release & rework and incident investigation to ensure safe and quality products are packed. 
• Training and coaching of operators and team leaders to drive the ownership and accountability by manufacturing teams to ensure that all manufactured products and process control requirements comply to all GFSI & Arnott’s quality system requirements.
• Support Line Quality plans to drive continuous improvement in all aspects. This includes but is not limited to reduction in consumer complaints, attending weekly meetings for allocated lines, Improving GMP standards, sanitation compliance.
• Support the development, implementation, ongoing maintenance and simplification of the site’s Quality management system (including GFSI, NCR, internal audit, document control and regulatory compliance).
• Interact directly with suppliers and internal customers to obtain documentation required for material release.

The Ingredients for Success

Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:

• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a quality assurance role within the food/pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing industry.
• An understanding of Quality Management Systems, HACCP programs and Quality Auditing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships with a diverse audience.
• Computer literacy (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); experience with SAP is highly desirable. 
• Statistical skills to allow analysis of customer complaints, line data and improvement opportunities.
