The role of Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator/Advisor is crucial to improving safety performance and implementing the OH&S strategic plan for the site and Sales workforce.  The Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator/Advisor will work closely with the People and Culture Manager and the Health, Safety and Environment Manager to effectively improve safety systems and processes on site.


The Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator/Advisor will be involved in key safety projects including manual handling training, managing onsite first aid services and also involvement in auditing and monitoring of safety systems.  The Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator/Advisor will be responsible for managing the return to work process for injured employees with an integral aspect being the identification of suitable duties.


About the role:

  • Manage return to work process by coordinating suitable duties, managing return to work plans, supporting team leaders and liaising with key health professionals
  • Manage self-insurance portfolio for South Australia
  • Develop and manage Prevention Programs such as manual handling training
  • Attend onsite safety meetings
  • Develop and review Injury Management policies and procedures
  • Involvement in external and internal safety audits
  • Involvement and assisting with the coordination of site wide manual handling risk assessments
  • Manage first aid services delivered onsite


About you:

  • Experience in managing self-insurance
  • Experience in presenting and training on key safety issues
  • Degree qualified in Occupational Therapy
  • Previous experience within the Occupational Health Industry would be advantageous
  • Experience coordinating return to work process for injured employees
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing medical management by seeking advice from medical professionals
  • Experience coaching members of staff on key safety and Injury Management issues
  • Experience in reviewing pre-employment medicals
