About the Role:
Are you a passionate safety professional looking to progress your career with an iconic company? We currently have a vacancy for a Part Time (Monday – Friday, 20-25 hours) experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to continue to drive and evolve the Health, Safety and Environment performance of Arnott’s New Zealand.
In this influential role, you will be able to make a difference to the health & well-being of our people across three distinct divisions of The Arnott’s Group; our manufacturing facility at Avondale, our Head Office located in Newmarket and our New Zealand field sales team located across the country.

What Your Day Might Look Like:
- Provide expert HSE advice across all levels, support incident investigations, and manage HSE systems including Rapid Global, Chemwatch, MYOSH, and contractor management tools.
- Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, implement control measures, and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training, inductions, and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety walks, while monitoring and improving HSE system effectiveness.
- Manage incident reporting and investigations, maintain accurate compliance documentation, and lead HAZOPs for new equipment.
- Support emergency preparedness through response planning and drills and contribute to continuous improvement of HSE practices.
The Ingredients for Success:
- 2–3 years' experience in a WHS advisory or officer role within manufacturing, industrial, or other high-risk environments.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand WHS legislation, codes of practice, and relevant standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels; proactive approach to risk management and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with WHS reporting systems, incident management, risk assessment tools, and safety audits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and WHS management software; high attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.
