About the Role: 

 

We are currently seeking a National Business Manager to join our Foodstuffs NZ team. In this role you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of sales initiatives across both Foodstuffs North and South Islands. This position focuses on driving revenue growth, cultivating strong relationships with key customers, and ensuring alignment with the company’s four-year strategic vision. A key aspect of the role is collaborating with internal teams to identify and leverage joint opportunities with customers. The National Business Manager will also act as a strong advocate for customer needs, ensuring that business goals are met and exceeded.

What your day looks like:

 

  • Customer Strategy & Relationship Building: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Foodstuffs in Snacking and Campbells Channels, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiating contracts, pricing, and promotions to drive growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Market Analysis & Growth Opportunities: Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities for revenue and market share growth, while aligning strategies with marketing, supply chain, and product development plans.
  • Operational Efficiency & Execution: Ensure seamless execution of promotional plans, inventory management, and order fulfillment, while resolving operational challenges and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Reporting & Process Improvement: Prepare and present detailed reports, forecasts, and analysis to customers and leadership, and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the Customer Team.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing customer team, set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and collaborate with P&C to address talent development needs, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.

 

 

The Ingredients for Success:

 

  • Leadership & Sales Management: 8-10+ years of experience leading high-performing sales teams, coaching and mentoring account managers, and exceeding ambitious sales and share targets. Strong focus on empowering decision-making and fostering a culture of excellence. (Business degree preferred)
  • Relationship Management & Business Growth: Expertise in cultivating and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, crafting business growth strategies, and identifying new opportunities for long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Executive Communication & Influence: Highly refined communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders, negotiate optimal outcomes, and represent the organization at industry events.
  • Financial Acumen & Strategic Decision-Making: Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and sales data analysis, with the ability to leverage insights to make strategic decisions and optimize financial performance.
  • Agility, Problem-Solving & Innovation: Exceptional problem-solving abilities in complex environments, adaptable to changing market conditions, and skilled in driving innovative sales and marketing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
