About the Role: 

 

We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our Foodstuffs South Island team. This role will see you be responsible for delivering key business strategies, AOP targets, and market share growth for the Biscuits, Nutritious Snacks, and Meals portfolios within Foodstuffs South Island. This role involves building strong relationships with the FSSI category team, supporting the National Business Manager, and ensuring alignment across internal systems. While customer-facing, a significant focus is on maintaining accurate forecasts to meet targets. The role also requires nurturing relationships with various internal teams (Marketing, Category, Finance, Demand Planning) and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with Foodstuffs South Island's strategies and customer needs. Strong relationship management and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success.

What your day looks like:

 

  • Financial Management: Oversee P&L for Biscuits, Nutritious Snacks & Meals, track business results, and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Share Growth & Relationship Building: Achieve share growth aligned with AOP targets, while fostering strong relationships with Foodstuffs South Island at all levels.
  • Data & Range Reviews: Analyse data insights to drive outcomes, and lead range reviews by coordinating input, defining objectives, and ensuring actionable results.
  • Market Share & Promotional Volumes: Monitor external market trends, integrate industry knowledge into plans, and ensure promotional volumes align with Foodstuffs South Island’s demand and supply.
  • Customer Relationship & Strategic Planning: Serve as the primary contact for Foodstuffs South Island, manage customer promotion systems, and develop structured annual plans with clear forecasting and prioritized objectives.

 

The Ingredients for Success:

 

  • Experience working with retailers across New Zealand and/or Australia to drive mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Proven ability to deliver results and translate commercial strategies into actionable plans.
  • Flexible and agile, with the ability to drive positive outcomes in various circumstances.
  • Strong communication, cross-functional management skills, and a solid understanding of systems (forecasting, trade spend management, and customer processes).
  • Business degree preferred; resilient and skilled in solving challenges with win-win solutions; role requires some travel, including visits to the FSSI office in Christchurch.
