People & Culture Manager

We’re looking for a People & Culture Manager to support our Marleston manufacturing site while also playing an active role in the broader People & Culture team across the Arnott's Group. This is a key leadership role for someone who can build trusted relationships on site, partner closely with operational leaders, and stay strongly connected to enterprise-wide people priorities, ways of working and cross-functional collaboration.
This role is ideal for a P&C leader who enjoys being close to the action, but doesn’t want to operate in isolation. You’ll work closely with our Marleston Plant Manager, site leaders and supply chain stakeholders, while also contributing meaningfully to the broader P&C team by sharing insight, aligning on strategy, lifting capability and helping drive a more connected and consistent people approach across Arnott’s.
What you’ll be responsible for
As People & Culture Manager, you’ll deliver both site-specific and organisational people initiatives, ensuring local needs are met while contributing to the broader P&C agenda.
You will:
- Partner with site and supply chain leaders to deliver people strategies aligned to business priorities
- Lead and activate key People & Culture initiatives that support engagement, performance and operational excellence
- Work as an active and collaborative member of the broader P&C team, contributing to shared priorities, functional alignment and cross-business initiatives
- Help build stronger connection, consistency and collaboration across site-based and enterprise P&C teams
- Bring site insight, workforce context and practical feedback into broader people strategy discussions
- Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees, delegates and union representatives
- Lead union engagement, support enterprise bargaining activity and help resolve grievances and disputes constructively
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, compliance and people risk
- Support workforce planning, talent acquisition and retention strategies for critical roles
- Drive performance, development and succession planning initiatives to strengthen capability across the site
- Lead the people side of change initiatives and help leaders navigate transformation effectively
- Use people data and metrics to identify trends, inform decisions and improve outcomes
Ingredients for success
You’re a credible and practical P&C leader who knows how to operate effectively in a complex operational environment. You can influence on the ground, navigate ambiguity, and balance local site needs with broader business priorities.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Significant experience in People & Culture / HR, ideally within a manufacturing, supply chain, industrial or operational environment
- Proven success partnering with senior leaders in a site-based setting
- Strong industrial and employee relations capability, including experience with union engagement, EBA negotiations, grievances and dispute resolution
- Experience delivering both local people outcomes and broader business or functional initiatives
- A collaborative mindset and genuine desire to work as part of a connected, high-performing P&C team
- Confidence contributing to broader strategy, not just managing day-to-day site issues
- Strong judgement, resilience and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, compliance and P&C best practice
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to use data and insight to guide decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
