About the Role:

 

We are seeking a visionary Head of Procurement to drive excellence across The Arnott’s Group, overseeing a significant A$160 million Packaging spend and leading a team of four skilled professionals.

In this high-impact role, you will join our Procurement Leadership Team (responsible for over $1 billion of spend across The Arnott’s Group), guiding best-practice procurement across three business units and eight manufacturing sites spanning Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. With responsibility for setting strategy and optimizing procurement operations, you will be at the forefront of delivering value and innovation for our iconic brands.

What your days looks like:

 

  • Lead procurement decision-making across a high-impact portfolio, managing over A$235 million in packaging spend, representing over 20% of TAG’s total spend.
  • Meet portfolio cost targets by uncovering value and mitigating inflation, with a goal of delivering over 2% annual cost savings and 5% Total Portfolio Value (TPV) in savings.
  • Ensure meticulous procurement processes are executed by the team, supporting New Product Development (NPD), operational expansions, and capital projects.
  • Lead category management across business units and geographies, developing and cascading category and sub-category plans, and ensuring consistent execution.
  • Drive the sustainability strategy within procurement, delivering improved outcomes aligned with TAG's environmental goals.
  • Set and deliver both the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plans for the category, with initiative-taking monthly outlook projections and team integration of these practices.

The Ingredients for Success:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or Food Science/Technology, providing a strong foundation for strategic procurement leadership.
  • Over 9 years in procurement with 3+ years of direct people management experience, ideally within Packaging; with relevant experience in R&D, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Finance highly valued.
  • Proven history in FMCG or related industries, ideally with international and Asia-Pacific portfolio experience, demonstrating adaptability across diverse markets.
  • Strong background in high-stakes procurement or commercial negotiation, with a focus on achieving advantageous terms and long-term value.
  • Strong strategic planning mindset with experience setting Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and managing budgetary control across business units, translating to P&L impact.
  • Initiative-taking in driving change within the organization and across the supply base, bringing forward a vision for continuous improvement and strategic growth.
