About the Role:
This role is a key role in the Procurement Team, focused on our Ingredient spend, and working with our suppliers and business partners to deliver great outcomes for our business. The role will also offer the opportunity to gain exposure across all key areas of Procurement to build future scale and capability across the team and our business.
The role will support the Head of Procurement - Ingredients and take on direct responsibility to manage spend across several of our sub-categories. The role will scale to the capability of the individual, and offer direct accountability on setting supplier strategy, completing key tenders, building new supplier capability, and ultimately delivering new business opportunities to suppliers, while negotiating enhanced value for our business through great savings, break-through innovation, and a more sustainable Supply Chain for our business.
The role also involves reporting, analysis, price projection and SAP / ERP interaction, to ensure critical skills are developed, and a real appreciation of the value of better buying. This is a key area for our business, and a great role that will provide learning and growth for a highly motivated individual. What your day looks like:
- Direct accountability (approx. $25M spend / approx. 15% of category) to deliver category plans and manage inflation
- Take action within a category to deliver improved spend outcomes and drive savings
- Delivering annual hard savings for the business across category spend
- Manage supplier performance in contract reviews - quality, service, risk, and spend
- Review, assess and understand supply risk
- Action decisions and expedite as required to meet new product development timelines
- Deliver outcomes for the team – be an active participant in cross-functional teams
- Be involved in RFI, RFP and pricing activity to deliver category savings
- Be active in aligning suppliers to Sustainability policies, targets, and tracking progress
The Ingredients for Success:
Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role;
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Industry experience (preferred)
- Analytical mindset, capable of dealing with complex information to draw out insights and opportunities
- Organising and project management skills
- Articulate, good written and clear presentation skills
- Open to change and positive outlook
- Basic financial skills and simple spreadsheeting capability
- Microsoft skills – strong all around
