We’re looking for a pragmatic, hands‑on communications leader to step into a broad, high‑impact role supporting our Corporate Affairs team on a fixed‑term contract.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and the CEO, shaping how we communicate through periods of change, while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver end‑to‑end communications.
You’ll operate across both internal and external comms, with a strong lean towards internal, in a role that blends strategy, execution and real‑time problem solving. It’s a role for someone who is comfortable navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders and getting into the detail when needed.
The opportunity
This role exists to provide additional leadership and delivery capability across a busy and evolving communications agenda.
With multiple change programs underway and ongoing business transformation, there is a need for someone who can step in quickly, provide strong counsel and keep communications clear, aligned and effective.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs and partner across the Arnott’s Leadership Team, acting as a trusted advisor while also delivering critical day‑to‑day outputs.
This is a lean, high‑trust team. You’ll have exposure, autonomy and the opportunity to genuinely influence how communications are delivered across the business.
What you’ll lead
You’ll take ownership across both strategic and delivery elements, including:
-
Leading internal communications across change and transformation programs
-
Developing executive communications, including CEO messaging and enterprise group-wide updates
-
Providing communications counsel to senior leaders on messaging, risk and positioning
-
Supporting external communications including media engagement and issues management
-
Identifying and managing reputation risks, including crisis and reactive communications
-
Owning and executing communications plans end‑to‑end across key business initiatives
-
Driving consistency of messaging across internal and external channels
-
Managing both our internal and external channels, driving consistency in messaging and engagement
-
Supporting corporate storytelling, campaigns and key business milestones
What success looks like
In your first 3–6 months, you’ll have built strong credibility with senior stakeholders and embedded yourself as a trusted advisor.
Communications across key change initiatives will feel clearer, more aligned and more effective.
You’ll be confidently stepping into complex or sensitive situations, providing guidance while also ensuring execution doesn’t slow down.
Most importantly, you’ll balance strategy with delivery, knowing when to advise and when to jump in and get things done.
About you
You’re an experienced communications professional who enjoys operating at both a strategic and execution level.
You may be a Senior Communications Manager or Corporate Affairs Manager looking for a role where you can stay close to the work while still influencing at a senior level.
You’ll bring:
-
Strong experience across both internal and external communications
-
Proven ability to support change and transformation initiatives
-
Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including executives
-
Experience managing issues, reputation risk or crisis communications
-
A hands‑on approach, comfortable writing, editing and delivering content yourself
-
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment
-
Strong judgement, resilience and the confidence to challenge when needed
-
A pragmatic, no‑ego mindset with a willingness to do whatever is required
Why The Arnott’s Group?
The Arnott’s Group is one of Australia’s most recognised and trusted food businesses, with a portfolio of brands that have been part of households for generations.
But this role offers something different.
You’ll step into a lean, highly trusted team with direct exposure to senior leadership, where your work will have visible impact across the business.
It’s a chance to contribute during an important period of change, build relationships at the highest levels and leave your mark.
Big enough to matter. Small enough to shape.
A final word
This role will suit someone who values impact over title.
Someone who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, navigating complexity and getting the job done, whether that’s advising at an executive level or writing a piece of CEO comms.
If you’re looking for a role where you can step in, add value quickly and be part of a team that genuinely trusts you to do so, we’d love to hear from you.
