About the Role:
The Senior FP&A Analyst is a key contributor to the ANZ Financial Planning & Analysis team, supporting the FP&A Manager in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial analysis across the Australian & New Zealand Snacking business. This is vital in driving positive financial results for the business.
Operating as a central function within Commercial Finance, the ANZ FP&A team is responsible for reporting, consolidating, and analysing the performance of the ANZ region. The team provides strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership and prepares leadership-level performance presentations. It also leads the financial forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring data accuracy and clarity on performance drivers.
Based in our North Strathfield head office, strong communication skills are essential to ensure strong stakeholder relationships, as well as the ability to work independently and own your stakeholder relationships, with a particular mindset to navigate ambiguity.
The role has responsibilities for month end data accuracy, including journal posting and balance sheet account maintenance. The role is a key support to our Marketing team in their advertising, promotion and overhead spend, as well as the broader business in financially operationalising and maximising forecasts and budgets through the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) cycle.
What your day looks like:
- Month End P&L & Balance Sheet Projection, Reporting, commentary & variance analysis:
- Review and consolidate month-end P&L projections from finance teams, ensuring accuracy and completeness to provide clarity in our month end call
- Own the preparation and posting of month-end journals for Marketing (as required), support the marketing team to understand month end performance and subsequent actions and look for process improvements to make month end more efficient
- Support the ANZ FP&A Manager with commentary and ANZ region reporting to enable executive level understanding of performance against key KPIs
- Own the balance sheet reconciliations for Marketing accrual and prepayment accounts monthly, making appropriate financial decisions on expense recognition
- Budgets, Forecasts & 3 Yr Strategic Planning:
- Play a key role in the consolidation of forecast submissions monthly to FP&A to report our latest forecasts & annual budget
- Proactively review and challenge assumptions underlying the monthly and quarterly forecast
- Partner with Marketing team (to CMO level) to drive the right decision making in respect of marketing investment decisions
- Responsible for loading, maintaining and analysing major quarterly P&L forecasts in our SAP EPM systems
- Reporting Development & Governance:
- Identify and implement improvements towards achieving development of best practice processes and governance within FP&A (including month end procedures, month end reporting and forecasting over the strat plan horizon)

- CPA would be advantageous
- Strong experience in FP&A
- Highly analytical capability
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally by building relationships and influencing others
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and flexible working in a changing environment
- Results-driven, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Microsoft skills – strong all around (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
