About the Role:  

 

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our high-performing team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (rotating shifts), based in Shepparton. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our manufacturing operations by assisting with the installation of new equipment, as well as performing essential repairs and maintenance, contributing directly to our continued success.

What your day looks like:  

 

  • Attend to mechanical breakdowns and repair plant equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Fabricate parts for industrial plants, including machining and welding, and work with high-risk equipment when necessary.
  • Perform planned preventative and condition-based maintenance on food processing plant and equipment.
  • Work on high-speed automated machinery in food packaging manufacturing and maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Document daily work, participate in root cause analysis, asset reviews, continuous improvement, and contribute to capital projects.

 

The Ingredients for Success:  

 

  • Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience and a trade qualification in a mechanical field.
  • Experience in pneumatics, welding, machining, and familiarity with SAP or CMMS systems.
  • FMCG experience with the ability to analyse equipment condition and identify maintenance needs.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of OHSE & Quality systems, with licenses for EWP, Confined Space, and Forklift highly desirable.
