The Opportunity

As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, you will be at the forefront of our mission to protect and empower our most vital asset—our people—at our Virginia production facility. In this crucial role, you will directly influence the safety and well-being of a dedicated 600-strong workforce operating on a 24/6 production cycle.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead the charge in developing, educating, and continuously enhancing our health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Your leadership will be key in nurturing a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization, fostering a deep-rooted commitment to health, safety, and well-being that transcends the workplace.

By driving innovation in our HSE practices and collaborating across departments, you will ensure that our operations not only meet but exceed safety standards, elevating the overall quality of production for our employees and setting a benchmark for industry excellence.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs in strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure seamless integration and communication of these programs into daily operations.
  • Provide expert advice and ongoing support to the Site Leadership Team on all health, safety, and workers' compensation matters, fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Spearhead complex risk assessments to identify potential hazards, implement corrective actions, and update safety protocols. Lead HAZOP processes for major site CAPEX projects (3-5 projects over 24 months).
  • Function as the primary liaison with government agencies, including initiative-taking engagement with WorkSafe Queensland. Respond effectively to reportable incidents and workplace inspections.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards, ensuring the highest level of workplace safety.

  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and elevating safety standards within the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment, inspiring others to prioritize safety in all operations.
