About the Role:  

 

As the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor you will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture by providing professional support, advice, and assistance to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, standards and council’s Safety Management System.

What your day looks like:  

 

  • Provide HSE advice and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in risk assessments, implement risk control measures, and promote safe work practices.
  • Deliver HSE training, including inductions, emergency procedures, and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Conduct workplace audits, inspections, and incident investigations to ensure HSE compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, support compliance with SafetyOne Standards, and assist with emergency preparedness and response planning.

 

The Ingredients for Success:  

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (Certificate IV or higher); First Aid certification is a plus.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a Workplace Health and Safety advisory role within a high-risk environment, with knowledge of Australian Workplace Health and Safety legislation and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence all levels of employees.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of risk management and incident reporting processes.
  • Experience in FMCG facilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Workplace Health and Safety management software, with experience using risk assessment tools and safety auditing systems.
