The Opportunity:

 

This role will see you place a high priority on safety and quality outcomes, it will be a stable and reliable leader for the mechanical team and be a key mechanical contact for operational managers and personnel on site. This role is responsible for effectively supervising and leading a team of supervisors, tradespeople, trades assistants and apprentices to deliver positive maintenance outcomes for the site, it will support with driving and delivering the maintenance department’s Key Performance Indicator results.

 

The Accountabilities:

 

  • Actively manage and supervise mechanical and electrical resources efficiently and prioritise jobs to service breakdowns, deliver planned jobs, escalate issues, and support production functions throughout the shift.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members to ensure they are meeting the expectations of their roles and are aligned with the values and behaviours of the business.
  • Attend and/or delegate resources undertake breakdown repairs.
  • Promote a positive culture around the APEX system in general and encourage maintenance support for the program.
  • Engage with manufacturing team members in collaborative problem solving.
  • Ensure notifications for any works which require follow ups - repairs, adjustments or other actions are planned into the schedule and resources allocated.

 

The Ingredients for Success:

Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role; 

 

  • Degree in Engineering is required ( RPEQ) preferred but not essential
  • 2-3 years in a similar role 
  • Ability to mentor, coach and lead a team
  • Extensive experience in maintenance activities
  • Experience with projects and the ability to provide examples is required
  • Competent to use MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and other relevant software
