Plant Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead our largest facility in Queensland, overseeing a team of approximately 700. The ideal candidate will be a demonstrated capable leader who can set and implement a long-term strategy and vision for the site, ensuring operational excellence in every aspect of production. A large component of this role will be building a high-performing team and executing on company business plans. This position will be fully accountable for operations, maintenance, safety, quality, cost, and people, and will require someone who can drive continuous improvement while fostering a positive and united team culture.
The Plant Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring production efficiency targets are met, safety standards are maintained, and key quality and food safety requirements are met for our customers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for delivering capital projects and actively participating in the Network Supply Chain Leadership team.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Full accountability for achieving volume and production efficiency targets.
- Oversight of all safety programs, fostering a strong safety culture on site.
- Ensure the achievement of quality and food safety KPIs.
- Promote behaviours that prioritise safety, quality, and excellence in all aspects of work.
- Manage the plant's financial performance to meet or exceed targets.
- Cultivate and drive a continuous improvement culture across all areas of the plant.
- Deliver capital projects on site.
- Actively participate as a member of the Supply Chain Leadership team.
- Develop and align the site senior leadership team around business priorities and operating excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external standards, policies, and regulations.
- Lead, coach, and manage the site leadership team to optimize performance.
- Oversee workforce planning and retention, ensuring key talent remains engaged and motivated on site.

Ingredients for Success:
- A minimum of 5 years of plant management experience, with a proven track record in leadership and plant operations
- Extensive experience leading large teams, navigating challenging situations, and fostering positive employee and union relations
- Manufacturing industry experience and relevant accreditation
- A degree in Management, Engineering, Science, or a related field would be highly regarded
- The ability to demonstrate calm, data-driven decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Proven experience in uniting teams with diverse skill sets and bringing them together to focus on shared goals
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to read and interpret P&L statements and manage plant budgets and lead cost reduction initiatives
- Experience with union management and conflict resolution in a factory environment
- A courageous and respectful approach to leadership, with a focus on team morale and fostering a supportive, collaborative working environment
