About the Role:  

 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, The night shift (10pm- 6am) Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the manufacturing lines in the biscuit network at our site in Virginia. This person will lead the operational production plan through the optimum use of labour in accordance with specified Safety and Quality requirements.

What your days look like:  

 

  • Maintaining a strong Safety and Quality Culture
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to LOTO, WHS and GMP
  • Monitoring and tracking daily production outputs, waste, and yield throughout the shift, making order adjustments where necessary to ensure production plan is achieved.
  • Ensuring lines/machines run in an efficient and uninterrupted manner, acting as required to ensure targets are achieved using demonstrated problem-solving tools to reduce inefficiencies.
  • Completing weekly labour planning process – managing leave, utilising available labour, mitigating site idle labour, reducing overtime and outsourced labour costs. 

 

The Ingredients for Success:  

 

  • Strong understanding of behavioural safety and ethics; proficient in MyOSH safety reporting systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications; computer literate.
  • Experience with GMP and quality reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening, written, verbal, and formal presentation.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Systems, including Lean Tools (5S, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, Visual Management, Standard Work).
  • Previous exposure to leading, coaching, developing and inspiring team members, building capability, driving accountability, and creating a great place to work.
  • Ability to influence and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and team members.
  • Previous experience in frontline leadership roles advantageous.
