Export Manager AU

Department:  Corporate Sales - ANZ
Location:

Newmarket, AUK, NZ, 1023

Job Function:  Sales - ANZ
Employment Type:
The Arnott’s Group | North Strathfield, NSW
We’re looking for a commercially driven, relationship‑led sales leader to take ownership of our Export business across core international markets.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a profitable, established export portfolio, while also shaping what the next phase of growth looks like. From the Pacific Islands through to emerging markets, you’ll play a key role in expanding our footprint and building stronger, more scalable international partnerships.
You’ll have full ownership of the export channel, including strategy, customer relationships and P&L. It’s a role for someone who enjoys autonomy, thrives in a fast‑moving environment and is equally comfortable setting direction as they are delivering results.

The opportunity
Our export business is already performing well, with strong foundations and established distributor relationships across key markets.
But there’s more to unlock.
This role exists to bring clear ownership, sharper strategy and greater focus to how we grow internationally. You’ll work closely with the Director of International & Global Customers, while partnering across marketing, supply chain, finance and the broader export team.
You’ll be leading a small but capable team, building capability while staying close to the customer and the numbers. This is about taking a good business and making it even stronger.

What you’ll lead
You’ll own the end‑to‑end export agenda, including:
  • Setting and delivering the export growth strategy across core and emerging markets
  • Owning the P&L and delivering against sales and EBIT targets
  • Building and strengthening distributor and customer relationships across international markets
  • Leading joint business planning with key partners to deliver sustainable growth
  • Driving distribution, profitability and compliance across export channels
  • Partnering with marketing to grow brand presence internationally
  • Leading, coaching and developing a small export team
  • Bringing structure, discipline and focus to how we scale the export business

What success looks like
  • In your first 12 months, you’ll have built strong credibility with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Our export plans will be clearer. Execution will be stronger. Opportunities will be better prioritised.
  • You’ll have strengthened key distributor relationships while also identifying new avenues for growth. The team will feel supported, focused and aligned.
  • Most importantly, the export business will have momentum and a clear path forward.

About you
You’re likely coming from a Sales Manager, National Account Manager, Export Manager or Business Manager background within FMCG, and you’re ready to own a channel and grow it.
You may already have export experience, or you’ve worked across distributor‑led or international markets where relationship management and commercial discipline are critical.
You’ll bring:
  • 5–7 years’ experience in FMCG sales, distributor or customer management
  • A track record of building and growing export or international business across distributor networks
  • Strong commercial acumen, including ownership of customer or channel P&Ls
  • Confidence influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders
  • The ability to operate strategically while staying hands‑on
  • Experience navigating export processes and international market dynamics (highly regarded)
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and problem‑solving capability
  • A self‑starter mindset with resilience, adaptability and a genuine ownership mentality
  • A passion for brands and delivering products consumers love

Why The Arnott’s Group?
The Arnott’s Group is one of Australia’s most iconic food businesses, with a portfolio of brands recognised across households locally and globally.
But this role offers something different.
You’ll have the backing of a well‑established business, with the autonomy and flexibility to shape how we grow internationally. It’s a chance to take ownership, build capability and make a visible impact.
Big enough to matter. Small enough to shape.

A final word
This role will suit someone who wants to take true ownership of a channel, not just manage it.
Someone who can build strong relationships, drive commercial outcomes and bring structure to growth… while still rolling up their sleeves when needed.
If you’re looking for a role where you can take a solid export business and help turn it into something even more meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.
