As our Data & AI Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of data and AI across The Arnott’s Group. Reporting to the Head of Modern Data Platforms, you will lead our Data Engineering function, driving the strategy, reliability and scalability of enterprise data platforms that power analytics, automation and AI-driven decision making.
This is a leadership role where you'll influence enterprise-wide technology direction, build high-performing teams and create the foundations that enable the business to unlock value from data at scale.

What Your Days Look Like

• Shape and deliver the enterprise Data & AI Engineering strategy
• Lead the design, reliability and continuous improvement of modern data platforms and pipelines
• Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks and scalable operating models
• Drive automation, DataOps practices and AI-enabled engineering capabilities across the function
• Partner with Analytics, Architecture and business teams to enable advanced data, AI and decision intelligence solutions
• Build, coach and develop a high-performing team of Data Engineering leaders and specialists
• Manage strategic vendor and partner relationships while ensuring strong delivery outcomes
• Oversee platform performance, security, resilience and cost optimisation initiatives

The Ingredients For Success
Just like you can't make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role;

• Proven leadership experience within large-scale Data Engineering, Data Platform or Data & AI environments
• Strong expertise in Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms
• Deep understanding of modern data architecture, data integration, lakehouse environments and real-time processing
• Experience implementing DataOps, CI/CD, automation and engineering best practices
• Knowledge of AI, machine learning and platform capabilities that support advanced analytics
• Strong commercial acumen, including platform optimisation and cost management
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Data or a related discipline
