Head of eCommerce

Department:  Corporate Sales - ANZ
Location:

North Strathfield, NSW, Australia, 2137

Job Function:  Sales - ANZ
Employment Type:

Build the next chapter of ecommerce growth for Arnott's.

At The Arnott’s Group, our brands are part of everyday life for households across Australia and beyond. We have deep strength in grocery, snacking and consumer favourites, and we are now investing in the next stage of ecommerce growth.

We are looking for a Head of Ecommerce to lead that agenda.

This is a newly created role with real commercial weight. It is not a narrow digital trading role and it is not a pure marketing role. We need a commercially sharp ecommerce leader who understands how major retailers work, how online and in-store channels connect, and how to influence across customer, category, marketing, digital and commercial teams to drive growth.

What you’ll lead

  • Shape and lead the ecommerce strategy for Arnott’s, with clear connection into the broader customer and sales agenda.

  • Improve online performance and market share across key retail partners, with particular focus on major grocery.

  • Partner closely with customer, category, marketing, digital and commercial teams to embed ecommerce into account planning and execution.

  • Identify practical growth opportunities across grocery, marketplace and emerging digital channels.

  • Build structure, rhythm and accountability around ecommerce performance.

  • Lead and develop a small team, with the opportunity to shape the future operating model as the function matures.

What you will bring

You are likely to have built your career in FMCG, consumer goods, grocery, retail, marketplaces or another commercially complex environment where growth depends on strong customer partnerships.

You will bring:

  • Senior eCommerce leadership experience with clear evidence of delivering revenue, margin, share or customer growth

  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how eCommerce decisions affect the broader customer P&L

  • Experience working with major retailers, marketplaces or customer account teams

  • The ability to move between strategy, customer planning and hands-on execution

  • Strong understanding of online retail performance, digital shelf, search, content, availability, media, conversion and promotional effectiveness

  • Confidence using data to diagnose performance, challenge assumptions and focus investment

  • The credibility to influence senior leaders and align teams with different priorities

  • Experience leading and developing people, building capability and creating clarity in an evolving function

What will make you successful here

You will do well in this role if you are commercial first, digital fluent and comfortable building capability in a business that is still maturing in ecommerce.

You will need to bring people with you. Ecommerce cannot sit in a silo here — it needs to connect into customer strategy, category thinking, marketing activity and the realities of physical retail.

The right person will be able to balance ambition with practicality: pushing the business forward online while respecting the strength and importance of in-store performance.

Why this role

This is a high-impact role at an important moment. You will have the chance to shape a newly created function, influence how ecommerce shows up across the business, and help build a more connected omni-channel growth engine for some of Australia’s most recognised brands.

If you are looking for a role where ecommerce is moving from a support function to a strategic commercial growth lever, this is a strong opportunity to make your mark.
