Management Accountant

Department:  Finance - ANZ
Location:

Virginia, QLD, AU, 4014

Job Function:  Finance - ANZ
Employment Type:

Join The Arnott’s Group and be part of a business behind some of Australia’s most loved brands — from Tim Tams and Shapes to Scotch Fingers and Vita‑Weat.

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Virginia manufacturing site, where you’ll work at the intersection of Finance and Operations, turning data into insights that directly improve factory performance.

This is not a typical desk‑based finance role.  You’ll be embedded in the business, partnering with Manufacturing teams to improve efficiency, reduce cost and drive better operational decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Partner with Manufacturing (Core Focus)
    • Work closely with Manufacturing Managers and Team Leaders
    • Analyse production performance (yield, waste, efficiency)
    • Translate data into clear actions on the factory floor

  • Product Costing & Commercial Insight
    • Own product costing across the site (including NPD and value engineering)
    • Model the financial impact of production and process changes

  • Financial Reporting & Planning
    • Manage the monthly close process and reporting
    • Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking
    • Provide cost centre reporting and analysis

  • Performance Improvement & Projects
    • Identify and quantify cost‑saving opportunities
    • Support capital projects and operational improvement initiatives

What Makes This Role Different

  • Fully embedded within operations — not a head office role
  • Direct exposure to how the factory actually runs day‑to‑day
  • Opportunity to influence performance in real time
  • A role where you’re expected to partner, challenge, and add value — not just report

The Ingredients for Success

  • Experience in management or commercial accounting, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing
  • Exposure to product costing or operational finance environments
  • Strong analytical capability and Excel skills
  • Ability to turn data into clear, practical insights
  • Confident communicator who can engage with non‑finance stakeholders

Note - CA/CPA is helpful, but not essential — we value commercial thinking and an operational mindset.

What to Expect

  • On‑site role (5 days per week) at our Virginia factory
  • Early‑start environment aligned to production operations
  • Manufacturing setting (PPE / uniform requirements apply)

This role suits candidates who enjoy being close to the action, rather than working in a purely corporate environment.

Why Join Arnott’s?

  • Be part of an iconic Australian business with strong heritage and future ambition
  • Gain exposure to end‑to‑end manufacturing operations
  • Work in a team where your contribution has visible, tangible impact
  • Enjoy great on‑site benefits including:
    • Free parking
    • Hot food canteen
    • Discounted products + wellbeing benefits

Our Culture:

We stand for high performance with integrity and find moments of pride and celebrate the wins gained from our collective effort. These are part of our culture and the cornerstones of The Arnott's way. When you join our team, you can expect to experience a real sense of belonging, be empowered with accountability, be recognised for your contribution, collaborate with great people.
